Resource Recovery

Energy management strategies have moved to the forefront of wastewater utilities as they aim to be more proactive, use resources more efficiently, and utilize the most energy-efficient equipment practical. The emphasis on energy management is part of the national movement for utilities to become the “District of the Future,” shifting wastewater facilities from net resource consumers to net resource producers.

Donohue is at the forefront of helping wastewater utilities achieve energy self-sufficiency through resource recovery enhancements. This includes facilities such as Sheboygan and Stevens Point, Wisconsin, which regularly achieve energy independence for significant time periods throughout the year.
